"We are unable to verify your Subscription" loop of insanity for Norton Anti Track

Precondition.

I've bought and installed the software.

I've added the application to my browsers.

When I attempt to open from the Norton tool, there is a flag icon which states that I need to set it up.

I click "Open"

  1. A window opens which states "We are unable to verify your subscription" with a link with the text "How do I Fix this?"
  2. I click the link.
  3. It brings me to a the Norton.com page, which asks me to sign in.
  4. I sign in.
  5. From here, I'm on my own. There's no further instruction.
  6. I click on My Norton.
  7. I see my applications. It tells me I have Norton AntiTrack. It has an option to download.
  8. I download it.
  9. A message tells me I've already downloaded it.
  10. Cool, so I should be able to open it, right?
  11. Nope. I click Open from the tool and I get back to step 1- A window opens which states "We are unable to verify your subscription" with a link with the text "How do I Fix this?"
  12. I try this a few times.
  13. I start to question my sanity.

Are you using FireFox? Any other browser? Try to remove all extensions, then re-install with a reboot in between: https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/v138585731 Also, make sure you open the .exe file with Run as Administrator, I've noticed it makes a difference.
