I received a TEXT on my Samsung Android phone that looks like it is from Norton. “Happy customer appreciation day, thank you for Supporting Norton 360” We are happy to have you as part of the Norton family.

I want to know if this is a scam.  I did a search online and found a couple of instances that show the Norton appreciation offer of a gift cert for $25.

Did you receive a SMS text message, or was this a message in the notification area of the Android screen as @frugalfreak seems to have seen?

Your link is just for emails. AFAIK, Norton does not use SMS messages for promotions.

I also have a samsung, so it is possible it is samsung related.

I cleared it without looking any further into the message.
