Update to ver. 21.4.6.565 of Utilities Premium made it *stop working*

I have Norton Utilities Premium and most recently was running version 21.4.5.428 - it worked fine and found/cleared all sorts of issues on a regular basis, every time I used it and ran "All-in-One PC Cleanup".  It found and I cleaned 'Browser cache files', 'Temporary files', 'Log files', etc, under the Internet, Windows, and Other headings.

Several days ago, I accepted the "Norton Utilities Premium updates" pop-up notification and it updated to version 21.4.6.565.  Now, every time I run "All-in-One PC Cleanup", it doesn't find *any* issues.  None.  No matter how much work I do, or internet searches conducted in the preceding hours or days, it finds no issues to be cleaned.  This *cannot* be right, given the frequency and quantity of found issues with the previous (and all other previous) versions.

Further proof - I have another computer that I did not accept the "update" pop-up, and so it still has the older ver. 21.4.5.428, and that Utilities Premium works just fine like it always did.  So, I have two questions:

1) What is going on with this most recent update version (21.4.6.565) that it broke my Utilities Premium?  And more importantly...

2) How can I *roll back* to the previous version that I know works (21.4.5.428)?

Thanks kindly for any light shed and any help that can be given!

Utilities Premium is no longer a good reason to auto-renew Norton 360

FYI Norton Utilities Premium is no longer offered for free with 360 auto renewal. This changed a few months ago.

Although I personally don't use NUP you may be able to remove the current installation, restart the machine and reinstall the product. I would not allow it to auto-update in order to prevent getting the latest update again and the issue reoccurring.

It is a server/software side, and yes the patch screwed many systems up 2 of mine so far...

Excellent post and the only place I have seen this issue aired. I have the same problem and spent over an hour with Norton support recently.

1) What happened? It's a new version that finds virtually nothing to clean. For me it's yet another security software industry 'sharp practice' like auto renewals at 400% the cost of Amazon. It's no surprise that Utilities Ultimate recently appeared and I guess that's where they want us. Maybe the old versions were reporting phantom issues - there always seemed to be a pattern to the number of files cleaned no matter what you were doing on the PC

2) You cannot roll back and the old version is no longer available

3) Maybe the next version in a few weeks time will be better

Thanks very much, ChrisC.  So, you got nowhere with Norton, I presume?  Yeah, I was hoping a new version that 'actually works' will be rolled out and I could get past this.  Worried that the new 'Ultimate' might (not) work the same as this crappy "565" version that I am currently stuck with.  I had begun to wonder if it was only mine that did this - but still, I don't see a community-wide uproar about this issue.

The only fix they were able to do for mine was issuing another Product key and all went smooth after that...

Cryoman, yes I got nowhere with Norton who say it is working exactly as it should but couldn't explain why it no longer finds any problems. With 80 million world-wide users you would think there would be an uproar but it just seems to be us two. Utilities Premium is no longer a good reason to auto-renew Norton 360
