Norton Software Updater risk column

Curious - Norton software updater shows me a list of software I have that needs updating.

There is a column "Risk"   that shows some are low , others High.

What does "High"  risk mean?

- that it is a risky piece of software to update?

- or that it is risky not to get this one updated (soon)  ?

thanks :)

The Software Updater feature in your Norton protection is designed to keep your third party programs up-to-date to help eliminate security vulnerabilities. For comprehensive protection, it is important to ensure that all your programs are of the latest version. A program that is not up-to-date can lack the latest security measures making it easier for cybercriminals to exploit that program and gain access to your PC and data.

Not all programs are supported by Software Updater. To know the supported list of programs, see List of programs supported by Software Updater.
