error 8504,104 when got update

another reinstall ( getting annoyed) did the remove and reinstall tool, go thru the update process , got a few need to restarts no probem

get to what i guess was the last or maybe before it ( not sure seemed same one maybe) get error 8504,104 when i restarted ( as it requested)

also it ran a auto fix and got stuck on conflicting program for what seemed forever over 10 minutes later i just canceled it.

i do not have any other security program and windows defender is and has been turned off

also noticed the safe webcam and vpn are missing

live update all current

run auto fix said need to restart ( again)

not sure why i am having such problems

Hello 9wood. Did you perform a removal only scenario, then restart the computer before reinstalling your product? The R&R tool itself can cause the error(s) you are seeing, a remove only is the suggested fix. Can you also tell us what version your product is on presently? And please share with us what OS you are running and its version/build. I suspect Windows 10 since this error is common on that OS.

thank you for the reply, sorry for the delay in getting back.

yes i do agree the rnr tool is a issue, i did the remove and reinstall not just remove option.

the reinstall never happened had to use another method to install, did seem to save my settings.

after i ran the auto fix ( support option) found installation issue and restart after it ran.

seemed to have fixed the  problem.

i have 360 standard

Thanks for the post back. So doing a removal only, reboot then reinstall your product corrected the issue? Just following up.

i ran the rnr said was downloading the newest version ( or words to that effect ) saving my settings ( which only seemed to do)

restart and the rnr on screen got broken link or issue with it

installed using a saved installer ( most recent i have ) and installed that way

thats when the issues began with the error message ( not including the rnr issue)

after updating and having the vpn and safe web cam missing ( as reported) and showing the latest build and up todate

decided to run the auto fix tool which found a installation issue and restarted

seemed to fix the problem

problem is with the rnr tool i would think
