What responsibility does Norton have for seven years of auto-renewal for Internet Security/360 Deluxe AND Security Premium on ONE device?

I have been a Norton customer for about 30 years with only one Windows device. I have used auto-renewal for most of those years. A recent search of my account history over the last seven years revealed Norton continued renewing Security Premium at the same time they renewed Internet Security, (which was replaced by 360 Deluxe in 2019), all on ONE device. With all the company name changes and software name changes, I did not realize the duplicates were occurring. I do not know how long beyond the last seven years these duplicate renewals have occurred. I cannot tell which of the two security programs is actually running in my Windows 10 desktop. I can tell I have been charged for two security programs for at least seven years with a considerable amount of money wasted.

How do I get my account fixed, and is there any financial responsibility to be corrected by Norton?

Norton has no way of knowing if you are in fact using a subscription you paid for. And they have no reason to know that you might not need two subscriptions each year.

As a consumer, you are responsible for checking your bank/credit card statements and dispute any charges you do not recognise. The only refund you are entitled to is for payments made in the last 60 days.  See  Norton's refund policy here.    https://support.norton.com/sp/en/ca/home/current/solutions/kb20100512172...

Thank you for your helpful reply - It makes sense to me that I share responsibility for not catching the duplicates. I retired eight years ago, and I most likely allowed a little confusion to help me miss this. I will be following the links you provided to secure a refund of one of the subscriptions just renewed.  I will also stop my auto-renewals and renew manually.
