Windows 8.1

What is going to be Norton's policy towards updates on Windows 8.1 after 10th January 2023.  Presumably it will cease as updating will leave Norton software liable to being hacked

Re: Windows 8.1

Don't know if it will happen on January 10, but it will probably be added to the list of XP, and Vista that have been put into maintenance mode.

See this post on maintenance mode.    https://community.norton.com/en/forums/norton-maintenance-mode-windows-x...

Re: Windows 8.1

One caveat is if you have a valid Windows install, and decent hardware, you can upgrade to Windows 10 for free. Since you are already running Windows 8.1 you shouldn't have any issues upgrading. Make sure you perform an upgrade vice a clean installation.

I would also ensure you have a disk image backup in case something happens to go wrong. Macrium Reflect is a great tool for backup. https://www.macrium.com/reflectfree
