Norton 360 - Ransomware protection and Cloud Backup

I use Norton Cloud backup and I thought that the backed up files would be protected from a Ransomware attack, however, I'm getting prompts from Norton to look into signing up for Ransomware protection.  Are my cloud backups not protected already?
