Norton VPN ad tracking blocker versus Norton Anti-Track

What is the difference between Norton Anti-Track and the ad tracker blocking feature on Norton VPN? Why is it recommended to have both services?

Re: Norton VPN ad tracking blocker versus Norton Anti-Track

Hello the Norton VPN Ad blocking feature does the following:

Norton Secure VPN is a security app that helps keep you safe while you surf the web. It prevents your online activity from being tracked by 3rd party trackers, including ISPs, or the websites that you visit, giving you private internet access. It also helps in blocking ad trackers by intercepting cookies and removing your identifying information.

Norton Anti-Track does the following:

Norton AntiTrack is an app and browser extension that keeps your online activities and digital footprint private. Its key features help to obscure your identity from tracking and fingerprinting attempts made by browsers and individual websites.

They both do much the same. I use the VPN ad blocking feature when I am on the Norton VPN. Both are not needed. During normal browsing I also use the uBlock Origin extension to filter out domains that are attempting to connect which we normally do not see in those transactions. It also filters third party remote fonts and cookies which can also be an issue.

uBlock Origin supports the majority of Adblock Plus's filter syntax. The popular filter lists EasyList and EasyPrivacy are enabled by default, along with the malware domain blocklist URLHaus. The extensions are capable of importing hosts files and a number of community-maintained lists are available at installation.
