Export Passwords, Download File for Chrome

There's NO place to create a CSV file of NPM on the Website, Extension, or Mobile app which would help my Chrome Deleted Passwords (500+) Passwords, and NPM (300) Passwords would help. (Clearing browser data in Chrome last week the "passwords" were automatically checked off in the box! Thanks, Google!

ANYBODY?

Any idea why the Imported CSV file from NPM states it's not formatted properly when I try Importing it to the Chrome Password Manager?

Respectfully,

Barry

Re: Export Passwords, Download File for Chrome

The problem is possibly although both files are CSV, Norton export is 8 columns wide where-as Chrome, from what I found on net, appears to be only 3 columns wide with slightly different headings. I don't use Chrome as a password manager, user Norton PWM exclusively. If you use Excel, you could open the Norton CSV, delete various columns and rename the 3 left. Norton 360 export column headings are Items Type/User Name/Password/Site Name/Login URL/Notes/Secure/Favorite. Apparently, Chrome only requires URL/user name/password.

Rename columns as follows  Login URL to URL/User Name to user name/Password to password and then delete the unused columns, make sure column order is URL - user name - password and then resave as a new CSV under a different name & see if this works. Sometimes, editing a CSV, although saved as a CSV, does not act as a true CSV. I use Norton exported CSV, import into an Excel worksheet, manipulate columns etc & then save as a hard copy for future reference.

Apparently, with-in Chrome, you can export passwords, (up to 3000) so if it does work OK, carry out an export and save, if you lose them again should be a straight forward import.

Other than that, can't offer any other suggestions.

Best of luck

Re: Export Passwords, Download File for Chrome

Wipe out the TWO columns of Passwords. Sounds confusing. Probably have to wait for my son to visit. I thought the green Google Sheets did the CSV files too. I can't make sense of that Excel crap.

Take Care!

To import a csv file into your Norton Identity Safe vault, you first need to ensure that the format of the columns matches those used by Norton.

Adding to mgirons information, here is a post from fellow guru yank that outlines the format required.
