Norton Internet Security FF Plugin causes js errors

I had to disable the NIS FireFox plugin. With the plugin enabled almost every web page visited generates the following javascript error one or more times:

Error: Error calling method on NPObject!

When I disable the plugin the javascript errors go away. Is this a known issue and is there a fix for this? Otherwise, how do I log a bug?

Details:

NortonInternetSecurityBF 2.6.1 with BrowserFramework 1.6.0

Firefox: 25.0.1

OS: OS X 10.9

<script id="ncoEventScript" type="text/javascript">// function DOMContentLoaded(browserID, tabId, isTop, url) { var object = document.getElementById("cosymantecnisbfw"); if(null != object) { object.DOMContentLoaded(browserID, tabId, isTop, url);} }; function Nav(BrowserID, TabID, isTop, isBool, url) { var object = document.getElementById("cosymantecnisbfw"); if(null != object) object.Nav(BrowserID, TabID, isTop, isBool, url); }; function NavigateComplete(BrowserID, TabID, isTop, url) { var object = document.getElementById("cosymantecnisbfw"); if(null != object) object.NavigateComplete(BrowserID, TabID, isTop, url); } function Submit(browserID, tabID, target, url) { var object = document.getElementById("cosymantecnisbfw"); if(null != object) object.Submit(browserID, tabID, target, url); }; // </script>

Re: Norton Internet Security FF Plugin causes js errors

Hi J_ames:

Welcome to the Norton Community.

ImNtUrBuddy posted a thread regarding FF25 and the Identity Safe plugin on a MacBook here that looks similar to the issue you're describing.  Forum administrator Gayathri_R posted a thread here in the Norton Toolbar / Norton Identity Safe board titled Norton Identity Safe 3.0.84 for iOS - Product Notification about a patch released today (04-Dec-2013) that might solve your problem.

There is also a post by forum administrator Mohan_G pinned here in the Norton for Mac board titled Firefox 24 Support for Norton Identity [Mac] which suggests to me that a FF25-compatible Norton Toolbar isn't available yet for NIS 5 for Mac users yet.

Re: Norton Internet Security FF Plugin causes js errors

Thanks for the reply. Since your reply, my FF has autoupdated to 26.0 so I'm currently at that version. I'm going to disable FF autoupdate for now and wait for a Norton patch that will be compatible with FF 26...

<script id="ncoEventScript" type="text/javascript">// function DOMContentLoaded(browserID, tabId, isTop, url) { var object = document.getElementById("cosymantecnisbfw"); if(null != object) { object.DOMContentLoaded(browserID, tabId, isTop, url);} }; function Nav(BrowserID, TabID, isTop, isBool, url) { var object = document.getElementById("cosymantecnisbfw"); if(null != object) object.Nav(BrowserID, TabID, isTop, isBool, url); }; function NavigateComplete(BrowserID, TabID, isTop, url) { var object = document.getElementById("cosymantecnisbfw"); if(null != object) object.NavigateComplete(BrowserID, TabID, isTop, url); } function Submit(browserID, tabID, target, url) { var object = document.getElementById("cosymantecnisbfw"); if(null != object) object.Submit(browserID, tabID, target, url); }; // </script>
