Manual Scans should be linked with the Background Task ones

Manual Scans should be linked with the Background Task ones.  Doing a manual Norton Quick Scan and then the Backgrond one doing an "Idle" Quick Scan right after is a bit pointless!

Re: Manual Scans should be linked with the Background Task ones

thanks floating_red. We already do that. If a manual quick scan has run we will not run a quickscan in the background unless there is a reason to do so. For example, new definitions are present on the system via LU and a quick scan has not run with the new updates.

Re: Manual Scans should be linked with the Background Task ones

This doesn't happen on my system.  If I install new V.D.s and do a manual Quick Scan on Silent Mode, when I Turn Off "Silent Mode", an Idle Quick Scan starts.  If an Idle Quick Scan is due it should be delayed for two hours if the user has already ran one, or a manual Full System Scan. This is why Manual and Background Tasks Scans should be linked with each other.

Re: Manual Scans should be linked with the Background Task ones

A few times I have manually started a Full System Scan after being on websites that aren't ones I would go on regularly and trust. I'll leave the computer and when I come back the Full System Scan is still running as well as an idle Full System Scan.

This should be changed so it should not happen.

I believe my comment is related. Please can a Norton Product Team member respond. This was certainly the case in 17.1. I'm not sure about 17.5 and I haven't received 17.6 yet.

This is currently NOT in Norton Product, so would like information on why this was changed to "Already Exists in Product".  Thanks!
