unwanted window

An unwanted window has appeared on my screen and has no option for erasing: with the Norton logo it says "scanning message 5 of 1" and has not changed over a week. There is also a yellow square with a white circle inside it. How do I get rid of it?

Could you please give us more information such as your OS, browser you are using, Norton version.   Also a screenshot of that unwanted window would help  How to post an image in the forums
