so i have an old computer that i have and it has about 512 mb of ram installed and when i ran the norton bootable recovery tool on the computer it didnt work properly my guess is it was because of the memory so would it be possible to make a stripped down version of the norton bootable recovery tool for computers less than 1 gb of memory?

because i mean i wouldnt want to use the norton antivirus 4.0 rescue disks and try and clean my computer with 25 year old virus definitions would i? unless the old liveupdate ftp server went back online but that aint gonna happen

i was going to run up to windows vista on my computer but i still need it to remove malware from my other computers

What OS are you running, and are you attempting to recover from an infection? There may be other options we can suggest for you. Also. Does the computer support at least 1 GB system memory? And, are you running the NBRT from a USB device? Why would any company continue releasing products for operating systems when the OEM no longer supports them? Other companies are following suit with their software. Its simply not cost effective to maintain nor assume the legal responsibilities that are coupled with usage. Please give a bit more information so we can assist further. I'd personally be glad to help as will others.

im not currently recovering from an infection and this shouldnt have to do anything with the operating system im running. The computer has 512 mb of ram installed and i would like to keep it that way. I ran the nbrt tool from a blank cd. This should be in the product suggestions board if it already isnt
