spam email sender address is hidden

Please help me with a specific type of spam message.

I can't set up a rule to block them as I do not know the email address of the senders. the sender's email address always appears as 'Amazon @ Shopper! which of course is not a true email address

I get several of these messages in Junk each day, apparently from Amazon, Centre Park etc. Although I never open them or respond, they are irritating.

If you select "File/Properties" there is a box called "Internet Headers" that will show all the details of the message that was sent including the email address.

If you block them they will be sent to junk which is what you have now so you will not gain anything. They are already being blocked by your spam filter of your email program. You cannot eliminate them from showing up unless you close that email account and create a new one.

That being said you can open the full header of the email to get more information. Depending on your email provider there are different ways to do that but in general once you open the email there should be some sort of dropdown menu to allow you to see the full header.

thank you for replying so promptly. What I normally do with spam is set a Rule on Outlook (not the web version) to send any email from that sender to the Delete folder. The problem here is that I cannot find the full email address. opening the full header just shows the address which is already visible, for example 'Amazon@Shopper!'

I do not use Outlook so hopefully somebody else here can help answer.

I use Gmail and they have a very strong spam filter that puts all that garbage in the spam folder. I usually don't even bother looking but a few months ago I was receiving so much I just changed my email address and deleted the old account.

Everything magically disappeared and even though it was painful to do it was worth it. I think I had posted my old email somewhere and that is how it was spread to the spammers so I have vowed never again to do that.

thank  you. The Internet Headers box does show a lot of details, but not the specific email address from which the message was sent. However it does show the email address for replies, so I have added that (minus Reply@)to the Rules. If it works, and I get none of these annoying messages in the next few days, I'll post back on this forum.

Interestingly, the reply address is reply@langlovagok.hu. Hmm...
