Norton 360 VPN settings for compromised & non-compromised networks

When on IOS 15.5 wifi or Windows 10 wifi and Norton360 VPN is ON, emails won't send.  Receive is fine.  What are correct 360 VPN settings for both compromised and un-compromised networks?  See attached screenshots from IOS and W10 examples.  Thanks for your help.

Re: Norton 360 VPN settings for compromised & non-compromised networks

Your issue with email has nothing to do with the compromised or un-compromised networks. Email providers often block access from known VPN IP addresses to help protect your email account. When they see access from a location that they do not expect for that account, they often block or ask for confirmation that it really is you.

On your PC, you can use the split tunnel option for the VPN. Click the Split Tunnel option and add the .exe for your Outlook 2013. That way when you are using Outlook it will bypass the VPN and you should be able to connect as normal.

Unfortunately, the iOS version of 360 does not have the split tunnel feature, yet. All you can do is disable the VPN when you wish to access your email. If you are using cell data for this, you do not need the VPN as the data is already being encrypted.

Thanks Peter.  I will test both options and report back in a couple of days.  Appreciate the detailed explanation and steps for both W10/Outlook and iOS.

Re: Norton 360 VPN settings for compromised & non-compromised networks

Hi Peter.   Thanks for checking in.

Good new on the iOS front.  I worked with Apple Support for a long time and we finally found that I had an old Norton VPN app running on my phone along with the newer version.  I deleted both apps and data and then reloaded only the newer 360 Norton and voila the problem was solved for iOS devices.

I also contacted ATT Tech Support again and gave them the information you provided.  This time they did acknowledge there are known issues with Norton VPN and provided me with some alternative settings to try.  I checked to make sure I didn't have the old app on my Windows 10 devices and I don't.  I now just need to go to a public WIFI and the new email settings provided by ATT.  I will try to complete week of July 18 and get back to you with results.

Re: Norton 360 VPN settings for compromised & non-compromised networks

Thanks for the update.

I would have suggested looking for the older VPN app had you replied before contacting  Apple Support. But however you get the solution it is good news.

Can you share what settings AT&T suggested for the VPN?
