Bug in 8.8: No Idle or Initial Scans

I'm in the same situation. It no longer performs scans. It did perform an initial scan when I first got 8.8 but hasn't done any since then.

It has just done an Idle Time Scan but since getting 8.8 it has not performed an Initial Scan apart from when the software was first added to my computer.

I am getting idle time scans once or twice per day since updating to 8.8. MacBook Pro 14 on 12.5.1

as am I, which is good. However as i haven't seemingly received any updates sicne 8.8 as given to me the scans are probably only scanning for anything from when 8.8 was first released.
For now, might i suggest that you install malwarebytes. The scan takes 3-5 seconds.

I do the scans offline so that the computer isn't distracted, so to speak.
Have you tried to do a quick scan?

Quick scans did work but the initial scans stopped as did the post-update scan, presumably due to no update being mentioned in the security log which resulted in me concluding that I am no longer receiving updates which resulted in me removing Norton and switching, for now, to another security programme.
