When signing into my account it immediately signs all stating your being signed out due to prolonged inactivity.

When signing into my account, I immediately am signed out by Norton with a comment that you're being signed out due to prolonged inactivity. I have cleared all of the cache and browsing history and data from my browser without resolution. I am using Windows 10 PC and chrome browser.

All: Are you still experiencing this issue or has it cleared up on its own?

Same issue here . Windows 10, running latest version of Chrome. Same on Edge. Followed the steps here even though I was not logging into the Norton Password Manager extension.

Message: "Your session has expired. Please log in to your Norton account"

casstk. Have you cleared your browser cache as well? You might also want to clear your Windows clipboard cache as well. Here is how. To clear the clipboard in Windows 10:

Open the clipboard window by pressing the Windows + V keys on your keyboard. Click on the three dots in the corner of any clipboard item you want to delete. Select the “Clear all” option to permanently remove all non-pinned items from your clipboard history. Restart the browser and recheck for your issue.

Re: When signing into my account it immediately signs all stating your being signed out due to prolonged inactivity.

I tried the suggestions (clearing cookies and also clearing clipboard). I then tried updating Chrome. I then tried Edge (latest version). I then restarted my computer 3 times (and cleared the cookies etc each time). I then tried another computer.

I am paying for 5 licenses and we cannot take full advantage of the features. Even worse, I cannot update my payment settings so when my license expires in a few months I will have to find another service.  Right now, I cannot check on the Lifelock alerts.

Same issue, multiple machines, Windows 10 and Windows 11.

Norton authenticates, account information is displayed for a fractioin of a second and then session expires due to prolonged inactivitry.

Can't logon to raise a support call or adjust settings.

Has anyone attempted using a browser other than Chrome?

I'm having the EXACT same problem. Windows 11, Google Chrome, edge, clearing everything as suggested, etc. Nothing works.

I just got a new streaming device and I need these passwords to access the streaming apps on my TV.

I am REALLY annoyed.

I remember something similar happened sometime back but it was quickly fixed. This has NOT been the case this time.

FWIW!! Norton services status shows green and across the board. I'm not having any issues on any devices, PC, laptop, mobile signing into my accounts no matter what browser is being used. I DO have 2FA enabled and get a code for each login, I don't know whether that is making any difference on my end vice what you are all seeing.

The only suggestion I can think of is log OUT of your Norton account across all your devices if you have not done so already. Reboot only one and see if you have success getting into your accounts. Disable fast startup on your systems IE: Window 10/11 and restart, here is how:

FWIW, I came here due to this problem with Chrome, and I have tried everything suggested without success.  However, SA jogged my thinking a bit, so I tried logging in with the latest version of FireFox and Edge (in Windows 10), and both of those allow me to login to login.norton.com.  It's less than ideal, but it did at least allow me access to my subscriptions.

OTOH, I'm running the same setup on another PC, where Chrome allows me to login to login.norton.com without a problem, so this appears to more than just a straightforward issue with Chrome.

@BigPsy Check for different Chrome versions on the other computers that work. One computer not correctly doing what it should suggests, that individual device has a setting that is different from the others.

Re: When signing into my account it immediately signs all stating your being signed out due to prolonged inactivity.

I have had the same problem for about a month.  It coincided with my Password Manager failing to send me a link to my cell phone to open it my password vault.  I have had to type in my password vault password.

I cannot access Norton 360 on any of my devices because as soon as I put in my password I am in for a second and then it signs me out with the message "Your security is important to us. You've been logged out due to inactivity or an expired session. Please sign in below."

NORTON do something!

Re: When signing into my account it immediately signs all stating your being signed out due to prolonged inactivity.

I spent one hour with Norton customer support.  I was upgraded to a technician after about 10 minutes on that call..  I had to give access to my computer to the technician.  As near as I could tell the process was to first clear the browser history, and the next step was to clear cookies, site data, exceptions, etc.  The technician did this for my three browsers: Firefox, Chrome, and Edge.  Unfortunately, I used a short temporary password, as the technician tried and failed numerous times before the sign out problem disappeared on each browser.  On Chrome and on Edge I was able to go back and put in a more detailed permanent password.

Unfortunately, the browser that I normally rely upon is Firefox.  When I tried to change the temporary password on Firefox for Norton the sign out problem returned.  I should have let it go at that point, but I called in again with the same case number and got a different technician.  That technician tried for nearly another hour, without success, with solving the problem on Firefox.  The technician concluded that it was a Firefox problem (although I had the same problem on Chrome & Edge although that was probably temporarily solved.)  The second technician claimed that the problem with Firefox may be resolved within 24 to 48 hours by some updates to Firefox's servers!

I was too tired to argue further...

Three days later, today, I tried to access Norton on Firefox without success.  The dreaded sign-in & immediate sign-out problem still exists.

Again, Norton do something!

I checked "I believe this comment solves this Form Thread," but only for Chrome & Edge.

Hi, I was on support wait for around 1.40hr after the support chat reset for no reason about three times!! they logged in and I was able to show I could log into Edge but not Chrome, after a lot of mucking around, they went into Chrome extensions and turned some stuff off, making the login work, working back from there it turns out the roadblock was my dragon voice extension... I don't understand this as I have been  using Dragon in Chrome since 2008(ish) yet it suddenly does this, I am not convinced its fixed to be frank however I will take it as working ATM

Yes, I was just able to open the Norton website on Firefox by removing the Dragon Professional Web Extension!

Re: When signing into my account it immediately signs all stating your being signed out due to prolonged inactivity.

I can confirm that as per AIFHB's post the problem appears to be with the Dragon Dictation web extension.  I was able to login on a Windows 10 PC using Google Chrome.  However, I could login on a different PC also running Windows 10 and Google Chrome. The difference between the two machines is one had Dragon Dictation on and the other did not.

In Google Chrome, go to the three dots for the pull down menu, select settings - Extensions - manage extensions and switch off your Dragon extension whichever version you are running.  After switching it off, go back to your Norton tab and try to login. At this point I was able to log straight in and access My account fully.

After I logged out I was going to switch the extension back on. However, I am using Dragon voice dictation to type this now, with the extension still switched off. So I won't even bother turning it back on, unless it is specifically required in the future.

This did indeed solve the problem. Turning off the Dragon Extension did the trick!
