VPN and Norton

Hello,

Can I get a VPN service and still run Norton security?  Will Norton allow the VPN to load?  Are there any VPNs that work better than others with Norton?  I'd rather not take any part of Norton down to get a VPN.  Thanks for any advice in advance :)

Re: VPN and Norton

yes, you can use a VPN service and still run Norton security. Norton will definitely allow the VPN to load. there are numerous VPN services and you can choose accordingly. You don't need take down Norton to run a VPN service. F-Secure Freedome, Cyberghost, HideMyAss ! Pro VPN, ExpressVPN, Hotspot Shield etc are very popular worldwide. So, go ahead use any VPN service and Norton Security.

Re: VPN and Norton

Thanks Centaurus, that was helpful.  I will check out those VPNs and go from there.

Re: VPN and Norton

Norton security shouldn't interfere with VPN. One thing to be aware is that VPN isn't as anonymous as Tor which protects the identities of the sender and receiver. Plus, some (free) VPN e.g. Hotspot Shield, will feed you advertisements; some will also keep traffic logs. Make sure you read their privacy statements and logging policies.

I definitely don't want ads.  Thanks for the heads up about that.  I just need more security.  I've never heard of Tor - What is that?

Re: VPN and Norton

Yup, thanks.  I did a search online and found it.  It's interesting, but I don't have much of a connection for bandwidth.  I only have (hi speed) dialup.  It sounds like a great organization because of the work they are doing to make people more secure online.
