Norton keeps deactivating
I have recently bought a subscription for Norton. But it keeps deactivating every other day.
Windows 10 defender is off and Norton turns off too. It says trail period has expired. Then i log into Norton and it tells me i can transfer subscription from other device. Which shows me my computer anyway. After selecting it starts working.

Re: Norton keeps deactivating
Did you have another security product before you installed Norton? If so, you need to fully remove it using the removal utility for that program.
Then you might try downloading and running the Norton Removal and Reinstall Tool from www.norton.com/nrnr This will get you a fresh install of your Norton product. Be sure you read the before you begin section, and run LiveUpdate manually a few times, restarting as necessary, until no updates are available.

Hello Harsh Dhadwal
Have you disabled Fast Startup as that can cause issues also with Norton and other products. You can follow the instructions in this KB. Perhaps this will aid you.

Thanks.

Your link takes me to a Document not found page.

Re: Norton keeps deactivating
It is not recommended to install a security program on an already infected computer. This could have caused some corruption in your Norton product.
If you have not already tried what I suggested above, I would again suggest that you reinstall your product using the Norton Removal and Reinstall tool.

Hello Peterweb
That is strange with the link for that page. I just found the page again and that is the version number for the KB. The KB is from May. I just copied the KB since apparently the link is incorrect.

Message: "Your trial version has expired, you need to activate it now" appears after I update my Norton product
This document helps users who have an active subscription and see the message "Your trial version has expired." If you do not have an active subscription and if you need to subscribe to continue using the Norton service, read I need help with a Norton Trial service.
You may see this error message after you receive an update to your Norton product even though you have an active subscription with days remaining. To fix this problem, you need to activate the product again.
Activate your Norton product again
Start your Norton product.
In the Norton product window, click Activate Now.
When you are prompted to sign in to your Norton account, enter your email address and password, and then click Sign In.
If you do not remember your password, at the bottom of the window, click Forgot Password and then follow the instructions to reset the password.
Once you sign in to your account, your subscription is updated automatically.
Activating your product again does not charge you or use any additional licenses. Thanks
