As Dick asks, more detail would be helpful especially what you mean by "can't open"? And can you "open" your Gmail when you use a different browser?

Please also say what version of Windows you are using?

Do you mean that you can't, when using Firefox, get to your Gmail inbox or that once there you can't open and read a message listed there?

I normally read my Gmail using Internet Explorer on Windows 7 which is my daily workhorse and I have a shortcut to get to that on my desktop for which the URL is https://mail.google.com/mail/#inbox

  • So I opened Firefox (fully uptodate to a day or so ago)
  • Inserted that URL in the Address Box
  • Clicked on the ---> Go To arrow head.
  • This took me to a series of log in boxes for my ID, PW and update contact information and then to my InBox and the list of messages.
  • Individual messages opened in the normal way.

 So at least for me there is no blockage.
