Norton extensions on Google Chrome

I have all Norton extensions installed and enabled on Google Chrome (home page, identity safe, safe search, toolbar). However, Norton does not recognise that they are installed when I look on the identity tab on the Norton UI- it tells me setup required. When I click on setup now the web page opens but it shows that all extensions are installed. This has been the case through several versions of Norton Security and Google Chrome. I'm on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

Re: Norton extensions on Google Chrome

This is a known issue with the Norton UI. It goes back to when ID Safe was actually installed with your Norton Security product. Now that the browser extensions are downloaded separately, the UI has not been updated to recognize the change.

You can just ignore that message.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Thanks for your reply. I find it strange though that on my netbook with Windows 7 Starter 32 bit the Norton UI does recognise that the extensions are installed!

Has your netbook received all the latest updates from Norton?

Re: Norton extensions on Google Chrome

Yes, as has my desktop, but Norton on the netbook has always been OK in recognising that all extensions are installed, whereas Norton on the desktop never has.

Re: Norton extensions on Google Chrome

Did you have any reason to reinstall Norton on the desktop recently? That may have cleared out some old information that connected your ID Safe to the Norton product.

Re: Norton extensions on Google Chrome

Not recently. ID safe works OK (cloud version on Chrome and via the Norton UI). In fact all the extensions seem to work OK. The only problem is that Norton on the desktop won't recognise that all the extensions are installed.
