Anti-Tracking v Deletion of Tracking Cookies

Can someone please explain to me.... Why do I need Norton Anti-Track if Norton 360 is supposed to delete Tracking Cookies automatically?

I have just had a pop-up from Norton to say that I have over 100 trackers on my system and that I need to further subscribe to have these removed!

Is Norton shifting goalposts and removing software from the original package to create so-called new additional parameters to their 360 which was meant to cover EVERYTHING - ie 360degrees !!!

Anti Track   v    Deletion of Tracking Cookies ..... what is the difference??

Tracking cookies are cookies, i.e. text files dropped on browsers, that are able to record data about the user of that specific browser, such as his or her actions on a site, browsing activity, purchases and preferences, IP address and geographical location, and the like.

Usually, this information is used for targeted marketing, to direct and display advertisements as precisely as possible to relevant segments of the internet users, that is, potential customers.

Curious, did you see pop-up from Norton regarding "100 trackers" after running Smart Scan?
Curious, do you have Special Offer Notifications On or Off?

With Special Offer Notifications Off.  I think I see fewer Norton popups.

for example: with Special Offer Notifications Off

and with Special Offer Notifications On

Re: Anti-Tracking v Deletion of Tracking Cookies

Note: with Special Offer Notifications On ... after Smart Scan run.  I think it's best to opt Close. I think View Solution calls Norton advert pop-ups.  I think Close also runs clean up.

Note: Special Offer Notifications Off does not stop all Norton pop-ups.

Re: Anti-Tracking v Deletion of Tracking Cookies

...with Special Notifications 'OFF' we may miss a good deal from Norton..... it is set to 'ON' by the way !

Having this 'ON' shouldn't be a tool for Norton to say that they have discovered problems and is therefore it's a Marketing device to sell add-ons that I  thought we were having fixed with the original package '360'

So, it's not the pop-up that bothers me, it's the additional up-sell of protection that I thought was already part of the package...
