I am getting near constant pop ups from Norton with this message:::

The computer 192.168.05 is attempting to access netbiosd on your computer. Do you want to allow this connection? 

First, does anyone know how to identify the mysterious "computer 192.168.05'? What is netbiosd? And why does Norton keep doing this??? Norton please answer also. I'm paying for your services every month and it would be nice to get a response to this question and a solution. Thank you.

As previously posted the IP you are seeing in within your LOCAL network, another computer or devices asking for a file sharing connection. You should verify whether you have file sharing enabled on your MAC and adjust according to your needs.

Hello KG1. The question "What is NetBIOSD? That is answered in this apple forum thread. NetBiosd is a very OLD messaging services that is usually present to communicate with a Windows machine. If you do not have a Windows machine on your network with which you share resources with OR. Share a printer with just block the messages. The most likely way to ultimately stop the notifications is to disable file sharing, that is also discussed in this apple thread. 

Out of an abundance of caution on my side I did not open your pdf file to review it. Files these days are being posted that say they are one thing yet when opened are something else.
