FYI!! One thing to remember is that all antiviral software will degrade system performance at one level or another. Getting your Norton install fully patched and on the latest version will take a couple of product patches and restarts to complete. Once that is accomplished, background scans can be tailored to your needs and even disabled, not to run unless you manually do so.
