Clean

I am doing a Clean to remove a few photos. The process takes hours. Why? It took a few minutes to analyse, and about 15 minutes to decide which photos I wanted to discard, and now it takes Norton hours to Clean them. It is still going.

Up the top it says Clean Complete, and on the right it says that it is still Cleaning. It is not complete. I will probably have to leave this on overnight and have another look at it tomorrow. Norton is supposed to improve the performance of the computer. I doubt that that is happening.

I have just edited a screenshot and I am adding it now. I removed my email address. 

Similars are now down to 1 MB and it is still going.

It occurred to me that my photos are not sitting on my Mac's hard drive. They are taken on my phone and would be located in iCloud. They are viewable on the Mac. Does Apple have a facility for removing duplicates in Photos?
