I am trying to backup a large folder (photos) from my PC hard drive to an external hard drive but I keep getting a message "There is a backup problem. Make sure the destination drive or device is connected and then try again."

I am trying to backup a large folder (photos) from my PC hard drive to an external hard drive but I keep getting a message "There is a backup problem. Make sure the destination drive or device is connected and then try again."   I have done this and tried many alternative settings eg including files. folders, different file types etc. I have followed the advise creating a new backup set but it still doesn't work.

Backup seems to work when the destination is Norton Cloud storage but not to my local external hard drive.  I can copy to and read from this hard drive using Explorer.

Any advice appreciated.  I am using Norton 360, latest version, on Windows 10

You need to ensure that your external drive is mapped to a drive letter to be able to access the drive from Norton backup settings.
