Hi, recently I had created another thread of a bug in Norton: https://community.norton.com/en/forums/norton-360-keeps-showing-ip-address-trying-access-nordlynxappex-even-when-app-blocking and I contacted NordVPN support team too because after allowing those IPs to access the internet, kernel panic occurs. It has been happening every day. That notification is displayed immediately after the machine resumes from sleep. I can see lots of remoted crashes on console. I contacted them and this is what they wrote:
Hello,
Thank you for your letter.
From the information you have provided, we can see that the Norton application you have installed is trying to block the VPN connection of the NordVPN application.
TheNordLynx.appex
processes are used by our application to establish/maintain a VPN connection using the NordLynx VPN protocol.
Since the Norton anti-virus application is flagging the connections, it is highly likely that it is causing the Kernel Panic error messages on the operating server itself.
We would recommend contacting Norton's support staff directly regarding this problem, as there is not much that we can do from our side to circumvent the connection flagging by the aforementioned anti-virus software.
They are blaming Norton for this kernel panic. So most likely Norton is the culprit behind this kernel panic. Let me know if you need more information. I have uploaded those crash reports on my Google drive: [Removed]
System specs:
MacBook Pro 16 with latest macOS
Norton 360 8.8.1 Premium
