Norton has locked down my install of Unreal Tournament. I cannot do anything to even try to start it as norton has put a shield over the top of it and all it does is ding at me. This is on my brand new computer that had norton preinstalled. Windows 11 home. I have already made myself admin. What do I do? Thank you.

I did what the link said and I still cannot open it up. Do I need to remove it from already being locked down? The shield is still overlayed on top of the UT icon.

Try clearing the file ID's as shown in the screenshot provided in the article. Keep in mind you need to exclude the installer for UT so that the installation can start.

Sorry for not getting back to this post. To get my 20 year old game to run, I deleted Norton and then had to delete and reload the game. Everything is fine now. How is it that Norton cannot read a 20 year old game? Someone failed bigly on that one. Norton is instructed to lock down my computer and my game so I can't even touch it? And the entire time Norton is advertising itself on my BRAND NEW COMPUTER with popup ads? I did not give Norton permission to control my computer and take away my abilities on it and I do not give it my consent to lock me out of software I am installing while shoving adverts at me. I was looking to get some protection for my new computer but it will not be Norton. I wasted HOURS trying to get through this garbage software. Thank you for trying to help SA but I will never use Norton again.
