Norton Driver Updater breaks bluetooth mouse

After taking the bait and buying Norton Driver Updater, my bluetooth mouse no longer works.
It becomes unresponsive when it times out while idle or after a Windows restart.
If I remove it in settings and try to add it back in, it will attempt to pair but remain "connecting" for infinity.
Some hard to replicate combination of restarting windows, waiting an hour or two, powering the mouse off and on,
occasionally works to connect it for a period of time.
Running Updater shows "having trouble? Solve now"  But clicking on the highlighted link does nothing.
"Overview" seems to show all the drivers with their release dates, but not the date updated.
I expected to find a way to revert to previous driver or an alternate driver for my Logitech wheel mouse.
Many of the drivers have 2006 release dates so updating isn't worth the dime and it has cost me hours of my time.
