e-mail client and Windows Live Mai (installed on PC) and Outlook 2010 (32 and 64 bit)

I wish Norton 2011 was compatible with Windows Live Mail (installed on PC) and would be able to check all kinds of emails against (viruses, phishing, spam, intruders)
and when you have email links (sites) say it is safe or not direct e-mail (all of this automatically)
Thanks

Re: e-mail client and Windows Live Mai (installed on PC) and Outlook 2010 (32 and 64 bit)

This goes back to the same problem that Norton only checks the normal ports (110 and 25) and has no option to check other ports used by email systems.  I believe windows live mail uses port 2525 for outgoing mail.  It also will not monitor SSL ports 993 and 587 used by many mail programs or regular ports 143 and 465 which are also used quite often.  Unfortunately this seems like a case where Norton thinks everybody should use the same ports instead of realizing there is a lot of variety in use.

totally agree
I think that Norton had to give protection in what your client uses (Windows Live Mail which is installed on the PC, I use Hotmail as POP3 and SMTP servers, yet failed to protect) and not force to use anything else!
Where is the Symantec Protection?
