Add time to existing subscription with new product key.

I tried to find this suggestion, but did not find this exact one in my searches.

It would be nice if when 'renewing' a current subscription with a new product key, as opposed to the Norton Renewal process, that the time remaining on the old subscription were automatically added to the new time for the new key.

As it is usually less expensive to purchase a new product and key than a Norton renewal, many users choose this option.

I concur. I process such as this would be a definite win for the customer. Thanks for making the suggestion.

Re: Add time to existing subscription with new product key.

I agree with peterweb.  I switched to NIS after getting fed up with the bloated McCafee product and have lost out serveral times by registering my new product key before my actual renewal date.  I would have thought it would be a simple task to automate the new renewal date to take account of whatever remaining subscription existed.

Too complex ot too lazy to enable?

Or a better idea would be to make a Norton renewal less expensive so we didn't have buy the renewal via retail outlets.

Re: Add time to existing subscription with new product key.

I agree with peterweb's suggestion, so that we wouldn't need to wait for the last day to renew our subscription in order not to lose the residual time on our old subscription.

It would also be very nice if you could consider peterdh's suggestion (Message #3 above) as well, about making a Norton renewal less expensive than buying a new product from shops.

I also agree with peter's suggestion. However we choose to renew our subscription should not have a bearing on how many days we may lose, by entering a new key. We buy the product, therefore we should be entitled to a full years protection, regardless of how it's obtained.

Edit:

(*) Or at least the Norton renewal shouldn't be more expensive than buying a whole new product from

      shops!

Re: Add time to existing subscription with new product key.

A bit of devil's advocate:

I agree that it would be nice to plug in a new key and retain the remaining days, but folks, please be careful what you ask for.

If Norton can add the remaining days to plugging in a new key, then I am sure they could also remove the remaining days when you renew through them!

Just food for thought!

The link to whatever Robert Reynolds wrote no longer exists.

It's 2019 and this problem still has not been fixed!

Norton, where are you? Bueller?
