False Positive for Libre Office (Help Pack)

The heuristics of Norton Internet Security 2012 is falsely reporting "LibO_3.6.1_Win_x86_helppack_en-US.msi" (part of LibreOffice 3.6.1) as containing a virus. The file supposedly is reported as containing a virus named "WS.Reputation.1".

I have verified this file with other virus scanners as well as online virus scanners (such as Virus Total). This file is clean.

The file can be downloaded from here: http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/stable/3.6.1/win/x86/LibO_3.6.1_Win_x86_helppack_en-US.msi

Sorry you are getting that false positive.
Please submit it here

So that Norton can update their files and eliminate the problem

Thanks

Re: False Positive for Libre Office (Help Pack)

Hi pblenman,

This issue was reported earlier here:

http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/Libre-Office-3-6-1-Help-and-WS-Reputation-1/m-p/794296/highlight/true#M215148

It is not a heuristics detection.  It is a reputation-based detection from Download Intelligence.  If you disable that Norton component temporarily while you download the file, you should have no problem.
