Toshiba GPT 3TB & Fat32

Hi, I run Windows 7 Pro 64-Bit with a ASRock P67 PRO3 (B3) MoBo

that has a UEFI BIOS.

My C, D and E partitions are on a 120 GB NTFS SSD with a MBR.

I installed Windows 7 on a pre-partitioned SSD so no hidden

"System Partition".

I have Ghost v11.5.1.2269 on a CD that I have used for years

to make/restore my images.

My present STORAGE HDD is a 2TB Toshiba with a MBR.

My future STORAGE HDD will be a 3TB Toshiba set as

GPT to have all of the 3TB's space usable.

My 3TB will be pre-partitioned like so using

EaseUS Partition Wizard Home v8.1.1:

F will be 2.629 TB's Set As Fat32

G will be     1 GB's Set As Fat32

H will be     5 GB's Set As Fat32

I will be     4 GB's Set As NTFS

J will be    30 GB's Set As Fat32

K will be    20 GB's Set As Fat32

L will be    50 GB's Set As Fat32

M will be    50 GB's Set As Fat32

My question: Can Ghost v11.5.1.2269 handle my Toshiba 3TB

GPT's cloning/imaging jobs as partitioned above?

Thanks in advance for any help you can be.

Re: Toshiba GPT 3TB & Fat32

Hi,

I don't think Ghost 11 and GPT are in any way compatible. You might be able to do it if the partitions are NTFS. But that's only a guess on my part.

Symantec Ghost is not supported here. Norton Ghost is. You want to go HERE.

I don't think GSS (Symantec's Ghost will handle drives over 2TB, GPT or UEFI.

Why would you use FAT32 instead of NTFS?

Re: Toshiba GPT 3TB & Fat32

If it was me, I would get 2 drives 2TB or less and set them up as MBR drives rather than one big one as GPT.

Don't worry about having to use a 3GB\sec port because for a non-SSD drive thats all you will need.
