360 VPN not same as stand alone version
Not unlike many posts I want to add that I also upgraded from Norton security premium with VPN included as stand alone program to 360 with it advertised as included. I have had 45 mins of support but no solution and connected to the VPN specialist dept...that did not answer. The VPN I had with NIS worked fine and had the option to have it started as a service on PC start and auto connect . I could have the icon on the bottom ribbon showing the app and if it was operational, just like Norton security. This is what is required as a minumum to have a controlled security as described and is normal for VPNs. However VPN starts as a service but the autoconnect does not connect. There is no icon to check to easily see if there is an issue and if it has a connection. To stay secure you are not going to remember to manually connect when you may need to. So , this 360 product has been missold in my opinion as having the Norton VPN, not a watered down version. As there is a stand alone version that works.....as I say, until 360 is as was advertised, offer VPN free with NIS as 2 seperate programs as a replacement. Norton? So unless there is something I have missed, I believe Norton should offer the VPN app as a seperate app until they can get it to work properly in 360. However the standalone VPN does not work when 360 is installed.
