Norton Core Security Plus

Based on Gayathri's post in another Core thread:

https://community.norton.com/en/comment/7347981#comment-7347981

It is my understanding that as long as I pre-order the Core Router using the link provided at the Norton Product Management website, then the 300+ days I currently have remaining on my NS/wBackup (10-device) license would get added to the "complimentary" 365 days that comes with new Core Security Plus license included with the Core Router purchase - or, essentially 665+ days - assuming that I were to place the pre-order for the Core Router today - is this correct?

Additionally...

I also have a still unused (not yet activated) 1-yr NS/wBackup (10-device) license on the shelf that I had planned on using for next year's renewal - Can this additional, still unused license, also be added to the Core's total licensed days?

Thanks,

John

Re: Norton Core Security Plus

What I would do is contact Support now and ask them to add the new key to your existing subscription. They have done this for me in the past. That way you do not have to worry about losing the key when you need it.

I'm fairly sure what you are asking about adding the time for the new Core subscription is correct. I guess this is another grey area for the Core subscription. The added time would definitely give you the protection for your devices, PCs,Macs, mobile. etc. Not sure if it would carry over to the Core functions and updates.

  @Gayathri_R  Can you clarify this?

Re: Norton Core Security Plus

Hi Peter,

I'll follow your suggestion and try contacting support. But FWIW, the last time I asked a Norton CSR to do this (via chat support about a year and a half ago) they said I needed to wait for the current license (same product, BTW,) to fully expire. Then just do the new activation myself via the Renew option in the Main GUI. In other words, they were unwilling to combine the licenses. But I'll post back and let you know my results for trying it this time.

Thanks for your response,

John

Just keep trying if you get one agent that says no. It is not a given they will do this, but I have done it at least 3 times with no issue.

Re: Norton Core Security Plus

Thanks Peter,

Just posting back to let all know that I had no problem whatsoever getting the NS/wB licenses combined by the first CSR that I contacted on Support Chat today. Everything went very smoothly and very professionally.

And now with that done, I'm on to pre-ordering a Core Router...

Cheers!

John
