Re: iExplorer4.1.7

All: The larger question is-where did this iOS app come from? Hopefully it was from here as the Apple Store should be the only respected place for getting iOS apps. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/iexplorer/id307733225?mt=8

Secondarily have a look at the author of the app itself and where its coming from. The author's website link in the Apple store returns a 404 error "not found" meaning that domain is dead. Please refer to screenshot. Not a good sign for considering this a false positive.

Cheers

@SoulAsylum

I  believe the user is trying to download this product.   https://macroplant.com/iexplorer

But searches show a lot of info/links for bypassing the activation process. Maybe the OP is using one of those, which is probably infected with who knows what.

@James1

What is the download link you used to get the program.

Re: iExplorer4.1.7

Could you share the original source of your download? That way we can determine if the developer's web site has a questionable download.

Indeed!! That was my thought process. Even if the app is in the Apple Store doesn't mean its legitimate. Finding the app author domain as non-existent flags this app as being from an untrusted source wherever it may be downloaded from. My recommendation is forego using it.

Re: iExplorer4.1.7

This app would not be in the Apple Store, because it is for Windows PCs. And the app you referenced is for IOS devices only and a different developer than the one I suggested may be involved here. Looking at the version numbers also helps show there are different apps involved in this question.
