Core drops all communication when Core begins to blink white
I am on Frontier FIOS using a FIOS-G1100 router. Norton Core is the only Wifi device connected between the FIOS router and my network. I have both wifi and direct connect devices to the Norton Core. Occasionally my Norton Core begins to blink white and my wifi and direct network connection drops. All the wifi devices no longer sees the norton core wifi SSID. My Windows 10 gets the exclamation point over the network icon that is direct connected. In a minute, the SSID name reappears and all my connections reconnect to the Norton Core. Internet and local share access returns. I am currently on iOS App Version 1.23 and Firmware release 171009_193. I have contact support since early October. The answer is always do a factory reset. At one point the core was restarting 3 to 4 times a day. Now I only notice it occurring maybe once a week. It could be occurring more frequently but I am not home to notice it. Every time I call support they ask me to do a factory reset. My whole family is mad at me for switching the wifi router to Norton Core. I guess it was a bad decision to use my home for bleeding edge technology.
I got a new message from the technician on the call this time. He says that Norton does on going updates to the core outside of the major firmware update. I asked if one occurred on 11/6/2017. He said yes... I asked why does Norton apply updates during the day that would cause the router to reboot. I told him that it would be good to allow users to set the down time for the router. He said he would let Norton know about that idea.
So here are my questions:
1) Are there users experiencing this issue?
2) Does Norton really apply minor updates and reboots the device during the day?
3) Could my Norton Core be defective? It never seems to be the solution to my problem?
I am waiting to hear back from engineering on my issue. I don't have any hope that the issue will ever be resolved since all I hear is do a factory reset. I think I can do that blind folded now. I may have to reinstall my other wifi router until Norton Core becomes stable.
