Core is blocking Windows Live email

The Core router blocks Windows Live email.  Email Error Message states that it cannot find 'pop-server' (Time-Warner, now Spectrum email POP3 servers.)  I tried changing to the ISP's DNS but it doesn't help.  If I plug computer directly into the cable modem / router it works fine.  It also worked fine when I connected to a Linksys router that plugged into the modem.  Why is the Core blocking this?

Re: Core is blocking Windows Live email

ChasMartin.  Core doesn't block Windows Live mail as I used it for my Outlook and Yahoo email accounts.

Check the above links to make sure you have the correct settings.

Re: Core is blocking Windows Live email

Thanks MannyT

I changed servers from 'pop-server' & 'smtp-server' to 'mail.twc.com' and it all works now. Wonder how it worked all this time... and still does if I plug straight into the modem?

BTW- for anyone else who needs to change these settings- be aware that the server now thinks you're a new client who needs all 500 already-read messages on the server (or however many depending on your settings.)  Clear what's on the server through a web-browser interface before you connect your email client.

Again- thank you Manny.
