Blue Coat vs. Safe Web?

Hello

Some times I find that there is a disagreement between Safe Web and Blue Coat. Safe Web says that a site is clean, but Blue Coat says it's malicious.. Wasn't there a time when we could question Blue Coat about the maliciousness or if it was clean? Recently, I found the only thing we could question was what group the site in question belonged to. I found I couldn't question about a difference between Safe Web and Blue Coat. I found that Safe Web said a site was clean, but Blue Coat said it wasn't. I couldn't find a way that I could question Blue Coat about it. I don't know if something has changed or if I have forgotten something? Thanks for any help.

Re: Blue Coat vs. Safe Web?

Floplot. I asked this same question almost a year ago. IE: why Safe Web and Blue Coat aren't on the same page with detections. The thread was closed and never answered. To the best of my knowledge with BlueCoat, there has only been the ability to have a URL reviewed for a category assignment. Thus, this is how categories are used on Core. The A/V product that accompanies Core, Norton Core Security Plus is where the actual malicious flagging is taking place. You'd think that having a Symantec and Norton solution within an appliance can cause issues right? That ship sailed some time ago lol. That being said, WebPulse does most of the same things Safe Web does here. Wondering why Norton didn't just chose Safe Web or Webpulse and integrated ONE solution into Core.

Cheers

Re: Blue Coat vs. Safe Web?

Hello Soul

I remember that old thread. The Blue Coat solution is of no help what's so ever. I was hoping that something had improved over time. All the Blue Coat will do is to change the category if it is wrong. That has nothing to do with telling me which program is telling me how to solve the problem when Safe Web tells me 1 thing and Blue Coat is telling me something different and just ends up giving me more points when Safe Web Team insists that the site is clean. The Safe Web Team tells me to check it out with the Blue Coat Team. I wish I had some contact with the Blue Coat Team like I have with Safe Web Team. I was too late to find out about Blue Coat Team since I didn't start to use Core until it was too late for me to find out about it. I think what I need is contact with the Blue Coat Team. I would think there is such an animal, but they wouldn't want to start any contact with me since I am just a d... user now.

Thanks any way Soul
