Norton Security is blocking all internet traffic
I was using Norton 360 when all IP traffic was blocked after a LiveUpdate. I can't access any web sites using either Chrome or Edge. I'm not even able to access my router's admin page. Attempting to ping my router from the command prompt gives a General Failure error. Oddly enough LiveUpdate still works. All other devices on the network have no problems. Disabling Smart Firewall does not fix the problem, nor does resetting it. Networking returns to normal if I remove the Norton product.
My searching for a solution showed that Norton 360 was an old product. As I only have 6 weeks left on my subscription I cancelled my auto-renewal and bought Norton Security. Same problem, which doesn't surprise me as there appears to be no difference between the 2 products. Everything in the above paragraph still apples with Norton Security.
All uninstalls of both products during this process have been performed using the removal tool, with installations using the apps installers, not the removal and reinstallation tool. I have turned off Windows Fast Startup.
I have had this happen on this computer once before, over a year ago, and was only able to resolve it by reformatting and starting again. I don't want to go down that path again as its too time consuming, I'm not well and don't have the energy for that. Any advice to fix this issue is greatly appreciated.
