Retail Store problems?

I recently purchased NAV 2012 from a bix box store.  I bought the one that is good for 3 installs.  I installed in on my computer about a month ago with no issues,  but when my girlfriend tried to install it on hers she get an error message that says "your product key has not been activated by the retail store"  I had her try both from the disk and from my Norton Account,  as that shows I have 2 installs left.  I cant figure out why she got that message and I did not.  I called Norton support and they want to take over her computer for a $39 fee.  I'm not sure which direction to go?  Has anyone had this happen before?

Hi yooper38

Welcome to the Norton Community :)

Maybe the best thing to do would be to have a chat to Norton Support

with activations for you.

Click on the link and select Chat Now-

Hope that can help.

Are you sure this was Norton support?  Search engine results frequently list third-party tech support companies that are not affiliated with Symantec.  Norton support will not charge you to resolve subscription issues.  If you purchased Best Buy Subscription Service software you should call 1-888-BESTBUY (1-888-237-8289) and ask for the Subscription Software Team.

Re: Retail Store problems?

Hello yooper38

The 3 installs are probably good for your address only. If your girlfriend lives some place else, she may have a different ISP and maybe they can tell that way. A Bix store can be any large department type store, so maybe you should start with them. It may not be Best Buy.

Success always occurs in private and failure in full view. Windows 10 Pro 64 bit Norton Core Security Plus 22.18.0.213 Core Firmware 282 I E 11 Chrome latest version.

Re: Retail Store problems?

Thanks for the replys all.  I will definately try all of them and see how it goes.  I never bothered to think that a different ISP may be the issue.  If it isnt,  I will try the other solutions.  Thanks again!

Hi yooper38,

You must have reached Norton premium service, try contacting Norton support from this phone number 1800 745 6061 available 24/7 for US and Canada. All you have to do is to tell them the error message, but make sure to have your proof of purchase handy as they might want to have a look at it, perhaps for the receipt number to activate your key as the product might have been improperly scanned at the retail store. ^^

I think therefore I exist

Re: Retail Store problems?

Hi guys,

You're right Dion.. so yooper38 if you want to be able to install your Norton product to 2 more computers just call Norton support as provided by Dion so that they can search your product key in their system and check whats the issue why its not allowing you to install the product to another computer and fix it so that you can install the Norton product to 2 more computers. Im sure they will help you with that.
