Norton 360 'attacked' on multiple computers???

Ok, so I have N360 on a computer & for the first time in over 3yrs, I have that from 7pm till around 7:04pm my N360 says its been blocking "UNathorized Access Blocked" - "SVChost.exe" - TARGET: C:/ProgramData/Norton/0000..ect...

I've attached a copy - WHY IS THIS WEIRD?

Well the computer was 'idle' (nothing happening, no one on it, never a download takes place) and at around 7:08pm my electric went off for like 2seconds....

OK, not a 'conspiracy theory' kinda person...BUT today on ANOTHER computer with N360 this same 'attack' takes place at 10:01am (again no one on it, its idle...) and for 4minutes the SAME kinda attack happens and then the eletric went out for like 2seconds....

So...I've got an attachment - What is this about? Is it some strange 'smart' guy down the road, is it some weird 'ATT' ex-employee - some NSA thing ---- OR what?  Two computers, same attack, for 4minutes at DIFFERENT times 7:01pm and then at 10:01am

Isn't that strange? Can anyway give some help? What should I do to 'know' I've got some 'security here'? (ATTN: The 1st 'attack' at 7:01 - this apparently went on being attacked about every 35minutes for like 3hrs straight)

Thanks again in ADVANCED!!!

ATTN: I can't seem to upload a picture of what I'm talking about (Im using 'paint' & it will not save in a type of file this WEBSITE likes---so if you want a picture, please tell me another way to 'save' it. Thanks again

If you can save the image as jpg then you can insert it into the text using this toolbar icon  in the reply editor.

Note that all of us will only see a placemarker until the image is cleared by a moderator and this sometimes takes a little longer at the weekend ..... they have families too <s>

Re: Norton 360 'attacked' on multiple computers???

Hi year2044,

"Unauthorized access blocked" events are not attacks.  They are instances where an outside agent on your computer attempts to access a Norton file or process and is prevented from doing so by Norton Product Tamper Protection.  In this case, the outside agent is a legitimate Windows process, svchost.exe.  Windows or not, Norton will still block it.  These events are normal and are nothing to worrry about.  The power outages are entirely coincidental.

Re: Norton 360 'attacked' on multiple computers???

Well thank you so VERY VERY MUCH for the answer,

I'd never seen any such 'attack' for a few years now and then on both computers done multiple times, done when nothing/no-one on the computer - was just 'weird' - literally like over 100 times on both computers....

Anyway, thanks again for the answer
