NortonCrypto in Windows 11

Hi everyone, and an early Happy Holidays to all. Recently upgraded to Windows 11, and had to reinstall Norton 360. Everything seems to be working fine, up until I click the Mining tile in My Norton. The NortonCrypto window opens on top of My Norton window, but it is completely useless. All that shows is status: mining eth, start miner/pause miner, the gpu in my Alienware pc, the hash rate, and the percentage of utilization of the gpu (currently at 98%). In the NortonCrypto window, all that shows is "projected earnings" per month and per day at the current rate on the left, and on the right it shows wallet balance with a "open wallet" link bar, which opens my browser, logs me in, and only from there can i see some kind of progress until the next payout by clicking on the mining tab. It seems the UI was changed. Spent 2 hours on phone after Norton chat help didn't help, and Norton blames Windows 11 for not being compatible. I am able to mine eth just fine. Even had a MH/s run of 176 for a while. MSI works well. Anyway, just wondering if anyone else has had the same experience, because i really like the other format, where you see the progress of the black circle turning yellow. At least you had an idea when payday was. Really is awful having to log in all the time to see my progress, since they auto log me off every 5 mins or so. Thanks for any help in advance.

As you may have noticed the concept of "payday" has been removed. With gas prices fluctuating so much trying to figure out when we could move once you reach a minimum payout was causing confusion. You now have the ability to withdraw at any time, however with recent gas prices soring above $15 per transaction lately, https://ethereumprice.org/gas/, I would caution trying to move small amounts of ETH when the gas price is high as it can be very expensive. We now show the current gas price in the web portal on the wallet page.

Hey Matt. Thanks for the reply. Yes I see the the format has changed, and it isn't good. It was much better on windows 10. And I also see the current gas price, and it's fluctuation throughout the day. Just curious to know if Norton isn't collecting this, who is? It says "current network transaction fee". Who charges this fee? Is it my isp? Is it coinbase? Is it a monitor that's monitoring the miners? It seems more of a scam than trying to pay the miners their full share. Just may have to turn NortonCrypto off and just use other mining software to get more $ out of this. Thanks.

The format is not tied to the windows operating system. It's the latest update we just released.

Norton is not collecting the network transaction fee. It is not your ISP or Coinbase either. This is part of Ethereum. https://ethereum.org/en/developers/docs/gas/

It can get pretty technical, but the bottom line is for every transaction on the Ethereum network there is a gas fee associated with it, and it will change based on the Ethereum network traffic at the time. This is what is ultimately used to pay the miners.

Other mining software will do the same, one thing to note if you move or transfer coins around "off chain" meaning within an exchange like CoinBase there will be no charge. BUT to move ethereum "on chain" there is always a transaction fee.

yea i am still on windows 10 it is the same for me. i like being able to see where i am on getting paid out. that has gone.

Thanks Matt. Yes i understand that moving it around in coinbase has no fee. So if i decide to keep using NortonCrypto, I guess the best option is to move it to coinbase in large amounts, maybe quarterly might be best. I do see that even the money in Norton wallet fluctuates with the price of Eth, so my best option is to withdraw from the wallet to coinbase when Eth drops.  Thanks again.

Hey Ken. I got some replies above that you should check out. Seems they did away with the minimum .0004 eth payout. The crypto you're earning is constantly put into your wallet while you're mining. But in their new interface, there isn't a way to refresh the window. It moves, but slowly. I just close all the windows I can and let my pc idle. But msi afterburner really helps with the hash rate speed. In norton crypto, it usually clocks at 42 mh/s. But if you click on the my wallet link to open browser, then click the mining tab after logging into norton account, hash rate there was clocking between 60 and 176 mh/s. Worth checking out.

yea i noticed that my 2 6700xt are at 86 hash rate and on the web platform i have saw as high as 210 but you cant add all in your wallet to your coinbase  account unless you leave a little in there. i had to add up all my payouts up to be able to do this. i had to leave like 2 dollars in there. as far as transfering i noticed that early in the morning is alot cheaper. like 6am EST
