How will be I charged for my subscription renewal?›

Once you are subscribed, the billing method that you stored in your account will be charged to renew your subscription at the applicable renewal subscription price (monthly or annual), until you cancel.
If your subscription renews annually, we will send you an email (between 30 to 45 days prior to your renewal) with price, term, and related details before we charge you, so that you know it is coming.

Re: Why am I charged for a renewal over a month in advance?

I too recently received an email that my card was going to be charged over a month before the expiry of my subscription. I was unaware of that time period, and that seems an excessively long time in advance of my renewal date.

So if I cancel my automatic renewal before my credit card is charged, does the product still work, ie protect my devices, up until the expiry date? The reason I ask is because of the last line in the following:

“Here are a few things you should know if you stop your subscription from automatically renewing:

  • Your subscription will continue through the end of your already paid subscription term, after which it will end and not automatically renew.

  • It typically takes a few hours from your request for the change to take effect.

  • Any benefits associated with automatically renewing subscriptions may end when you stop your subscription from automatically renewing.”

Which “benefits” will stop? Does the product still protect my devices? Does the VPN still work?

Thanks

Also, if I cancel the subscription, how many times per day until the actual expiry date am I going to be bothered by the software that my subscription has been cancelled and will be expiring soon?

AllanP:

1) Which “benefits” will stop?
2) Does the product still protect my devices?  Does the VPN still work?

Cancelling Automatic Renewal Service cancels automatic renewal service.
Subscribing to our automatically renewing Norton subscription service ensures that you do not lose your protection.
Cancelling Automatic Renewal Service does not cancel your protection for your current paid term.
After cancelling, your subscription will not automatically renew.
However, your protection will continue through the end of your current paid term.

Please, what is your geo-location/country? Are you United States?

1) What are the benefits of being in automatically renewing subscription service?
Subscribing to our automatically renewing Norton subscription service ensures that you do not lose your protection. It means you do not have to remember to go back and renew your subscription to stay protected. We send a notification email before each upcoming annual renewal (usually about 30-45 days ahead), so that you are not caught off-guard. This notification email provides important information, such as the price for the next annual term, and the subscription renewal and billing dates. This helps you to adjust your protection plan according to your needs.
Another benefit of subscribing to our automatically renewing subscription is that you gain the benefits of the Norton Virus Protection Promise. From the moment you subscribe you will have access to Norton experts that can help keep your devices virus-free or give you a refund*.
*Restrictions apply. Must purchase, renew, or upgrade your Norton qualifying subscription directly from Norton.com, or activate Subscription Renewal with Norton. See https://www.norton.com/guarantee for details including qualifying Norton subscriptions.

2) How can I cancel my subscription?
To cancel your subscription, sign in to your account and visit the My Subscriptions tab, or we'd be happy to chat about it. After cancelling, your subscription will not automatically renew. However your protection will continue through the end of your current paid term.
