Security History not displaying updates

Since being given Norton 360 8.8 I seem to be no longer receiving anti-virus updates or vulnerability protection updates.

I say this because the security history is not showing receipt of either of these updated and also the post update scans are no longer taking place. 

Is anyone else having these issues and can someone tell me if I will be receiving these updates even though the security history is not showing as receiving any updates.

Yes I have the same symptoms... Does it mean indeed we are out of real-time protection???

From 8.8.0, the definitions for anti-virus and vulnerability protection are combined into "symplatformdefs". Therefore, when the product downloads the SymPlatform_Mac-NS-Universal content (as in the attached screenshot ), you have all the definitions needed to protect your system.

Thank you for the update Rajkumar.  This is helpful information. 

In the future, this kind of information should be included in the release notes that are posted in the announcements section so that users know when changes like this are made..

Due to this issue I have uninstalled Norton and am using a trial version of McAfee. Therefore, are toy telling us on the record and from the business that the security log now does not tell us that we have the latest version of AV definitions and Vulnerability Updates in their machine?

I also noticed that post update scans stopped taking place as there was no entry saying that a post-update scan has taken place which led me to conclude that I stopped receiving updates. 

Rajkumur, you said that we no longer receive notification of AV and vulnerability updates. It it also now the case that post-update scans also do now not take place?

Scheduled scans does happen, but since it took longer to complete the scans, the notifications/logging were delayed, or got missed out under certain conditions. 8.8.1 would be fixing this problem and you would see the scans being logged correctly as expected.

Further to confirm on the definition update log, there will not be any separate AV & Vulnerability Protection log from version 8.8. Both of these are combined into SymPlatform_Mac-NS-Universal

Rajkumar, when can we expect this update?  I would think this should be considered a severe issue as scans are not completing...

8.8.1 is slated for release by the end of Oct 1st week.

Also would be good if this wasn't phased release like so many others where it takes weeks after release to actually get the update.  A manual live update should provide the update....

One probably way round this would be to uninstall and reinstall Norton as I would imagine that 8.8.1 will be available on the Norton website from when it is released whereas it will be released to customers in stages which may well take a week or two.
