Below is a list of the Frequently asked questions on the community. If you have questions that are not listed here, please post them to the Forum Feedback board.
- How can I register?
A community account login is easy! If you already have a Norton Account, you can use the same login credentials to access the Norton Community. Visit our registration page and sign in with your Norton account. If you do not have a Norton account, you can create one on the registration page. You will receive a confirmation email at this address with a link to complete the registration. Click on this link, and create a username for the community. Once done, your account is created and you are registered with the Norton Community.
- How can I log in?
After registering and confirming your registration, you can log in and start participating in Community. Visit the Norton Community site top right corner Account -> Sign In and enter your Norton Account registered email address and password in the "Sign In" section.
- I've lost my password. How can I get it back?
If you have forgotten or lost your Norton Account password, visit our registration page and click on “Sign In” then “Forgot password”. Follow the on-screen instructions to reset your password.
- How can I post a new message in the community?
- Sign In to Community using your Norton Account email address and Password
- Click on the "ASK THE COMMUNITY" option from the site top right end corner or Click on the "Create New Post" option from each Product Board category.
- How can I reply to the forum post?
Replying to an existing discussion is easy. Once registered with the Community, you can scroll to the bottom of an existing discussion and write your response in the comment section, then click Save. If you want to reply to a message higher up in the discussion thread, you can click the "Reply" link below each message. Type your response in the comment section and then click "Save."
- What does “Me Too” mean?
If you click "Me Too", you are indicating that you are facing the same issues reported in a post. Sometimes an answer is not necessary or does not add any information to a problem. Other times, new forum members are not comfortable responding publicly to a post. The “Me Too” link allows these members to add their contributions to a message. It also helps the NortonLifeLock community determine how many forum members have this problem and allows us to prioritize our efforts more effectively.
- How can I say that the post solved my problem?
Only the forum member who started the post can mark the reply as a "solution". Only the original publisher (OP) of the post will see a "Mark As Solution" link under each reply to the post. Click the link under the post that best solves the problem, and the post will be marked as the "solution" of the post. It can also happen that one of the administrators of the community marks the solution for the customer. This only happens in special cases where the customer explicitly indicates that the problem is solved. This approach helps other customers who have the same problem to find the corresponding solution.
- How can I be notified of posts/replies in a thread?
In a discussion, you can click the "Subscribe" button under the first post. This will give you notifications when the thread has been updated. In addition, you will be automatically notified of updates to a thread in which you are participating in the discussion.
When you post a reply, the option "Subscribe to this thread" is automatically selected. You can deactivate this option in your user profile by clicking on "Account" in the top right corner and then on "Edit". If you then scroll to the setting "Notifications", you can deactivate the option "Subscribe to topics automatically".
- How can I unsubscribe from community email notifications?
Click in a subscribed thread under the first post on the "Unsubscribe" button. This will unsubscribe from notifications of updates in this thread. You can also change the setting via your user profile by clicking on "Account" and then on "Subscriptions" in the top right corner.
- How can I add images to my posts?
When you write a message, you will see a button representing a mountain range in the text editor. This is the “image” button (also called IMCE). Click this button to open the options to add an image to your message. You can upload an image from your smartphone /tablet/computer, or share a link to an image on the internet.
- What is a Private Message?
Private messages are conversations between forum members that cannot be viewed publicly. This can be useful when you are talking to a NortonLifeLock employee about confidential topics or complicated technical questions. It can also help when members communicate with each other to come to the aid of other customers. Please note that the Terms and Conditions also apply to private messaging systems. Please never send confidential information in private messages. NortonLifeLock employees will never ask you for your Norton account password.
- How can I read a Private Message?
When you are logged in to the Norton Community, click on the "Inbox" in the upper right corner of the page. Your private messages will be listed under the “Messages” tab. Click the subject of the message to read it.
- How can I send a Private Message?
When you are signed in to the Norton Community, click on the "Inbox" in the upper right corner of the page. On the far right of the page, click on the "Write a new message" link. Enter the recipient's username, subject, and message text. When done, click "Send Message" at the bottom of the page. You can also send a private message from another user's profile. Click on the member's name to go to their profile page, then click on the "Send this user a private message" link next to their rank. The username will already be filled in; you just have to fill in the rest of the message and then click on "Send message".
