How to stop deleting Windows temporary files

How can I force Norton to stop deleting temporary Windows files during its background tasks?

I set the respective tasks to "No" in the settings. But it still continues to delete them (including files that are still needed!)

I don't understand. Smart Scan does not allow disabling certain features? There are such options in the Settings. But they don't seem to be considered.

by my observation:
Smart Scan does what Smart Scan does regardless of my Norton 360 UI Settings.

I don't want Norton clearing my temp/junk files.  Just me.
I don't want Norton adverts.  Just me.
I know my network is behind a password and Norton 360 runs Quick Scans...so, why run Smart Scan.  Just saying.
