Utilities Premium update pop-up says Upgrade?

I have software version 21.4.5.428 subscription active until 2050.  Recent pop-up requesting to update program.  While proceeding to update, it says UPGRADE so I cancelled it before it updated.  Is it going to upgrade my Utilities Premium to Ultimate and change my subscription from 2050 to yearly payments? What is the latest software version of Utilities Premium anyways?

Re: Utilities Premium update pop-up says Upgrade?

My current Ultimate is version 21.4.6.565. The Premium would be the same version after an update. The update will not move you up to the Ultimate version. That is a separate product.

The issue you might run into is that you will lose the use of your Norton Utilities Premium if you fall under either of the two scenarios I noted above where you no longer get the free Premium.

Re: Utilities Premium update pop-up says Upgrade?

The Premium version with the expiry of 2050 was a bonus for having Automatic Renewal enabled for your 360 subscription. Norton has taken this bonus away. They no longer offer the free Premium for the Auto renewal.

You can continue to use the free version until one of two things happen. You turn off Auto renewal, or your current subscription time that got you the bonus expires. Even if you did allow the subscription to renew.

Re: Utilities Premium update pop-up says Upgrade?

Thank you for the information.  Do you know what the latest version of the Norton Utilities Premium is? Mine is 21.4.5.428.  Is that the latest version of Norton Utilities Premium?

And do you know if I do update the Utilities Premium program using the pop-up link from Norton, will it Upgrade the program to Norton Utilities Ultimate or just update the current Norton Utilities Premium program that is downloaded on my computer?

Re: Utilities Premium update pop-up says Upgrade?

Issue 1: Don't update Norton Utilities Premium without knowing what it sets in motion. Why did the recent Norton Utilities Premium delete the desktop link to my old Norton Utilities 16? I was always able to run it AFTER the Norton Utilities Premium and despite the old software warning compatibility sign, it did a supplemental job of picking up internet cookies and garbage and cleaning registry files. After the upgrade of a Norton Utilities Premium, I get an error window when I click on my desktop shortcut. The warning window says "Problem with shortcut. The item "nu.exe" that this shortcut refers to has been changed or removed, so this shortcut will no longer work properly, Do you want to delete this shortcut?"

I scanned my C drive and could not find my old Norton Utilities 16. I am quite pissed off that Norton would delete an active Norton Utilities 16 Program that I use regularly for clean up (independent of whether they support it). The consumers view is: I love my original non subscription Norton Utilities 16, in the past, I paid for it and now without my consent Norton removed it.  So implied in the new auto pay policy, Norton Utilities Premium is no longer be available for free after this year's subscription cycle or if I immediately stop autopay. I am not paying for a separate subscription of Norton Utilities when I had a fantastic non-subscription Norton Utilities 16 backup. I want it back, please tell me how I can get it back.

Issue 2: Auto Double Payment for the same software. When I updated to Norton 360, the Norton Antivirus software came with it, along with the autopay. Now after reviewing my auto pay bank statements I see that Norton continued to yearly bill for the original Norton Antivirus software AND the Norton 360 Antivirus protection for the same registered computers. How do I stop Norton AntiVirus payment, get a refund and not interfere with the 360 protection?
