Norton Password Manager Accessibilty Disabled

Norton Password Manager Accessibilty Disabled is displayed on my android device.  I go to Accessibility settings under installed apps and Norton Password Manager Service is On, under Norton 360 Service it also shows as On.

Re: Norton Password Manager Accessibilty Disabled

I have the same issue on my Android device.

Problem lies within the Accessibility app nothing to do with Norton. Just restart and it should ok.

Re: Norton Password Manager Accessibilty Disabled

Yes, my settings were correct.  That fixed it, so my setup was correct

I also have the same problem.  Always had it on my former phone and now have it on my new Pixel 7.

@xjoex -- when you say "Accessibility App" exact what are you referring to?

I have a "Norton Password Manager Service" under Accessibility.  It shows as ON but then I get a message Accessibility Disabled - Turn on Norton Password Manager"

Just go to settings and then apps and you will find the accessibility app.  I just got an update to the app and all is fine on my Android 12.

Re: Norton Password Manager Accessibilty Disabled

Maybe different in Android 13.

Nothing called Accessibility or Google Accessibility under apps.  Went to Play Store and there is an Android Accessibility Suite which shows as installed already.  See:  https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.marvin....

Under settings, there is an option Accessibility > Norton Password Manager Service that I have enabled with an option for the shortcut, which I have also enabled.

Also checked permissions for the NPM and don't see anything that is not enabled.

Will keep looking.  Thanks!

Re: Norton Password Manager Accessibilty Disabled

The Accessibility app I have on my Android 12 is from Samsung and the Galaxy app store. For me there is a little man figure in the lower right hand corner of the screen and when I tap it it comes up say that Norton 360 and Norton Password Manager are on.

If you do not need accessibility functions you can probably  uninstall or at least disable this app. The suite from Google is a different app but I think you might be able to uninstall or disable also.

Re: Norton Password Manager Accessibilty Disabled

I looked at the Samsung App.  The icon in the store is about the same as the Google one (although the Samsung one has spread legs like the police are patting him down    )

Looking at the screenshots of the Samsung app, it appears that all of the functionality that is has is embedded in the settings menu for the Google one.

I think I'll remove and reinstall the Google app and if that doesn't help, will contact Norton and see if they have any ideas.

Thanks again for your help.

Re: Norton Password Manager Accessibilty Disabled

A little more.

The phone would not allow me to completely remove the "Accessibility Suite" because it is part of Android 13, but it would allow me to remove all of the updates.  Took them off and reinstalled.  It will take a little time to see if that works.

Re: Norton Password Manager Accessibilty Disabled

OK - So I contacted Norton Support and it turns out that there is a problem with Android 13 and NPM.  Specifically, the shortcut switch is causing the issue.  With the shortcut turned off, NPM works.  With it turned on, it doesn't work.

Support says that this will be fixed in a future update.

Fortunately NPM works without the shortcut.

@2Woofs,

OK thanks for the info.

I am still waiting for Android 13 on my phone. Samsung has scheduled it for October / November time frame so I will have to wait for my new baby to arrive.

I see you mentioned you had a Pixel 7 Google phone. When did you get Android 13? I assume it was very recent as a friend of mine just got his new OS yesterday.

Re: Norton Password Manager Accessibilty Disabled

My Pixel 7 came with Android 13.  I got it about a week ago.

I had Android 13 on my Pixel 5 for about 3 months.  Installed it in early August.  Had same issue with NPM, but hoped it would resolve with a new phone and clean OS.  Wrong again.  LOL
